The Trail Glove 5 ECO is a sustainable version of one of our favorite minimalist-inspired shoes from Merrell. We appreciate the use of recycled materials in this shoe, as well as the attention to durability - both are attributes of making sustainable gear, as long-lasting footwear also helps to create less waste. These are not a pure minimalist shoe; the sole is 11.5mm thick, just a little more than the 10mm typically allowed in this category of footwear, but we appreciate the design and feel of these shoes so much that they are still able to compete with much more minimal models. They are impressively lightweight and durable and offer excellent protection for tired feet and particularly rough trails without losing the seamless dexterity we love from our minimalist footwear.
