About Us

The Story of ScoutTech

What started off as a part time hobby business for a young entrepreneur in 2003 to help provide extra income to finance adventure travel around the world has since grown into a full time retail business serving the greater Toronto area with our retail store and beyond through our online store.  The initial idea behind the company was to provide customers with a niche assortment of affordable, quality camping gear for general outdoor adventures from car camping to backpacking & canoe tripping.  Today, we still feature an assortment of affordable gear, but we also strive to offer a diverse assortment of unique specialty outdoors products for all sorts of adventures.

Our typical customers are (but not limited to) backpackers, wilderness canoe trippers, motorcycle, bicycle & car campers, Scouts & Guides, Adventure Travellers and those summit bound for peaks such as Kilimanjaro & Aconcagua.  What attracts so many different folks to ScoutTech is not only our unique product assortment (including many hard to find items) but also that we’re diverse enough to cater to your budget.

We love the outdoors & we enjoy encouraging and assisting others to share our passion for adventure even more.  Our company goal is to provide one of the best assortments of outdoors gear & apparel in Canada for our customers, while continuing to maintain a selection for all budgets.  ScoutTech is a little bit different than the rest, but we believe that different is something good.

ScoutTech is 100% Canadian owned & operated.  Our retail store opened in Mississauga in 2011.
